Wow - time has flown by. It seems like just yesterday Kenlee was born. A lot has happened this year. Here is a quick update:
Kenlee's first month - She rode a horse and went on the Elk Hunt with dad. Her second month - she carved a Snow White pumpkin (with mom and dad's help of course), dressed up as a lady bug and really started smiling. Her third month - She took her first bottle, slept through the night, and celebrated her first Thanksgiving. Her fourth month - she celebrated her first Christmas and New Year's Even. She rolled over from her tummy to her back. Her fifth month - she started making a new face (scrunching her nose and mouth), sat in her high chair and started putting her toes in her mouth. At six months - she watcher her first Dayton 500 race, went to her first Jazz Game, rolled over all the way, had her first overnight babysitters (Grandmas), started clapping her hands. At seven months - she went to her first U of U Basketball game and the Sand Dunes. She ate rice cereal, bananas, sweet potatoes, green beans and prunes. She also got her first tooth. At eight months - she started clicking her tongue (pretending to call the deer). She had her first Easter and egg hunt and got her second tooth! At nine months - she celebrated Mother's Day and my birthday with me. She went to her first Bee's Game and walked in some 5ks with me. She also went to Bryce Canyon and went swimming for the first time. At ten months - she started pushing herself up from a crawl position to a sitting position. She started pulling herself up on things too. She started using sign language. We went to Yuba, celebrated Father's Day, and the Fourth of July. At eleven months - she took her first steps (August 4). She started giving kisses, went to Flaming Gorge and Yellowstone and brushed her teeth for the first time.
A lot has happened and I have loved every minute of it! Yesterday we celebrated her birthday. We had a polka dot theme and I used the colors pink, purple, and turquoise. They looked so good together. Our friend Ashlee made her cake and it turned out amazing.
After a frantic morning of cleaning, decoration, and getting the food together, friends and family showed up around 2. I made a 15 minute DVD of Kenlee and a memory photobook that everyone enjoyed. We had some light refreshments, opened presents, watched Kenlee eat her first cake and the kids hit a pinata. It was a great party and I can't believe my little girl is one!
